Lyndsey Langsdale – Chair
Lyndsey is a cultural anthropologist, farmer and artist based in Reno, Nevada. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Anthropology and has worked both locally and internationally in urban agriculture, food security, food justice, food systems development, ethnography, folklife studies, human rights advocacy and physical theater. Lyndsey co-owned and operated Lost City Farm, an urban farm in downtown Reno that set the precedent for urban farms to be allowable in Reno’s zoning codes. Two years later, she and a group of brilliant and beloved friends launched Reno Food Systems, a non-profit organization and 5-acre urban farm on a protected parcel of historic ag land. Passionate about transforming trash into treasures, she aims to turn vacant public and private lands into vibrant and productive green spaces throughout the community.
